St. Paul’s Cathedral

St. Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul’s Cathedral is London’s oldest church and the seat of the Diocese of Huron of the Anglican Church of Canada. Designed in Gothic revival style by William Thomas and built between 1844-1846, it stands as one of the city’s most recognizable historic landmarks and a designated heritage building. The cathedral replaced an earlier wooden church that was destroyed by fire in 1844.

This venerable Anglican cathedral has been at the heart of downtown London for over 180 years, hosting community worship services, special events, and serving as a gathering place for important civic occasions. The cathedral’s bells have marked significant events throughout London’s history, calling citizens together as a community.
