About This Event
This hands-on educational program with Growing Chefs! Ontario teaches children about sustainable foraging and plant identification. Participants will learn how to safely and sustainably forage wild foods while developing their observation skills and connection to nature.
The Forest City is full of food just waiting to be foraged if you know where to look - we’ll give handy tips on where and when to start looking!
What to Expect
- Learn safe and sustainable foraging practices
- Plant identification using your senses
- Hands-on practice identifying, drawing, and making rubbings of plants
- Delicious snack with ingredients from local foraging
- Take-home recipes for wild food cooking
- Tips on where and when to forage in London
- All supplies provided
Note: Accompanying adult is highly recommended. Please register every person attending.
