About This Event

Mean Girls High School Version

LYTE's Senior Company brings the hilarious and razor-sharp musical comedy to the Palace Theatre stage in this special high school edition. Based on the iconic 2004 film, Mean Girls follows Cady Heron as she navigates the treacherous social hierarchy of American high school after years of homeschooling in Africa. When she gets pulled into the orbit of the Plastics—the school's most popular and ruthless clique—chaos, comedy, and catchy musical numbers ensue.

This production features the talented young performers of LYTE's Senior Company tackling Tina Fey's witty book and the energetic pop score. The high school version maintains all the sharp humor and memorable moments from the Broadway show while being tailored for student performers and audiences. Expect quotable one-liners, big dance numbers, and surprisingly heartfelt messages about friendship, identity, and the absurdity of high school politics.

The show runs March 20-22 at the historic Palace Theatre on Dundas Street. This is a great opportunity to support local youth theatre while enjoying a contemporary musical that's become a cultural phenomenon. Whether you're a fan of the original movie or new to the Plastics' world, this production promises an entertaining night of laughs and killer musical theatre performances.
